We like to inspire instead of depress people into action! We've selected some of our favorites for January and created this highlight reel.  Watch for our monthly recap in February!




A&W: “Change is Good”:  A&W is making strides at becoming the first popular fast food chain to move completely away from single-use plastic straws. In order to speed up the process of removing straws from their restaurants, the company took all the remaining plastic straws and created a sculpture outside of Toronto's Union Station, made from their iconic orange straws, that read, ‘Change is Good". We agree that change is definitely good and hope that A&W's goal of lessening their environmental impact in key areas such as food sourcing, packaging, energy, water usage, and waste is realized for them.


Goby the Fish:  Goby is beachgoer’s newest friend and has left an impact on those he encounters. A local beach decided they needed to come up with a way to keep their beach clean. Goby, a large fish sculpture proudly wears a sign that says "Goby loves plastic, please feed him". Each time Goby fills up, the city takes him to be emptied and brings him back for the next day. It's a win-win for everyone, Goby isn't left hungry, beach goers have a clean beach, and we are one step closer to a cleaner environment! 


US based major brand moving from single use to refillable packaging:  Have you ever heard the term “what is old is new again”.  P&G has partnered with TerraCycle of New Jersey to collect and recycle/reuse similar to the “Milkman” days of old!  They have also introduced reusable, refillable packaging for many products.  Nice to see P&G using their global reach to affect change!
